Logging Methods: Voice, Text, Photo, Label Scan, Repeat, and Favorites

Hoot gives you multiple ways to log your food, so you can use whatever fits your style (or your hands-free moments).

Voice & Text Logging

Talk or type like you're chatting with a friend.

Examples:

  • "I had two scrambled eggs, a piece of toast, and orange juice."
  • "Grilled chicken with rice and broccoli."

Hoot uses natural language processing to break it all down into calories and macros. It works best when you're casual but specific (don't just say "lunch").

Photo Logging: Snap, Analyze, Save

Take a picture of your food and let Hoot do the heavy lifting.

  1. Tap the camera icon
  2. Snap a photo (or upload one)
  3. Hoot analyzes the image and gives you a meal estimate
  4. You confirm or adjust

Great for visual learners or when you're eating something homemade or complex.

Nutrition Label Scan

Snap a photo of a nutrition label and Hoot extracts the calories, macros, and more.

Perfect for:

  • Meal kits
  • Store-made foods
  • Anything packaged

Repeat: Re-log a Meal You've Had Before

Tap the circular arrow icon to see your recent meals. Pick one (or several) and tap Add logs to re-log them in seconds. Great for leftovers, meal prep, or anything you eat often.

Favorites: Your Saved Go-Tos

Tap the star icon on any log to save it as a Favorite. Your morning smoothie, your go-to protein bowl, your kid-friendly dinner: one tap each.

The Bottom Line

Pick the method that fits the moment. Hoot does the math no matter how you log.
