Suggestions: Your Weekly Coach Cards

Suggestions are weekly coach cards that translate your week's data into specific, personalized next steps. Two or three of them, every week, built around what you actually ate.

What each card looks like

  • Title. A short imperative headline (about 8 words).
  • Body. Two or three sentences that reference your actual numbers. For example: "Your protein averaged 89g this week, about 60% of your 148g target."
  • Try this. One concrete action you can take today.

How to see them

  1. Open the Insights tab.
  2. Make sure you're on the current week.
  3. Tap the Suggestions button on the Status Card.

A modal opens with your cards. Suggestions are only generated for the current week, not past weeks.

What the AI uses to generate Suggestions

The model is given a snapshot of your week:

  • Your daily plan targets
  • Your weekly totals broken out by day
  • Every meal log from the week
  • Your weekly insight averages (protein and fiber as a percentage of target, plus last week's comparison)
  • Your profile: primary goal, diet, foods you avoid, what you want to accomplish, what typically gets in your way

It's instructed to never invent numbers, to pick a different topic for each card so they don't overlap, to respect your diet and food preferences, and to stay non-judgmental. It also judges consistency against how many days have actually elapsed in the week, not against a full seven.

When Suggestions refresh

Suggestions cache per user and refresh automatically when:

  • You log a new meal
  • Your latest meal log changes (like deleting the most recent log so a different one becomes latest)
  • Your local date rolls over to the next day

If nothing has changed, reopening Suggestions returns the cached set instantly.

Hoot+ only

Suggestions are part of the Hoot+ experience. Free users who try to open Suggestions are routed to the paywall.
